Injured Daddy Dave won’t race, will still greet fans at PDRA event
MILLINGTON, Tenn. (August 12, 2015) – When the Professional Drag Racing Association rolls up to Memphis International Raceway (MIR) on August 20-22 for the Memphis Drags, it will be bringing an extra star of the show “Street Outlaws” with it.
The driver Boosted and his yellow Mustang will now race fellow “Street Outlaws” star Chuck three times during Saturday night’s racing.
Daddy Dave was originally scheduled for the match race with Chuck, but Dave suffered injuries and significantly damaged his car at an exhibition earlier in the month. Dave is now on the mend and still plans to be at the Memphis Drags to meet with fans and sign autographs.
The Street Outlaws are just a piece of what is expected to be a wild weekend of exciting Pro Mod racing at MIR.
Next week’s schedule at MIR starts with a rare Tuesday edition of Test N Tune on August 18. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. that night with the track live from 7-11 p.m. This Test N Tune session is open to all cars and bikes that pass the MIR safety inspection.
The PDRA takes over on Thursday, August 20 with a day-long test session for its racers. Test gets under way at 10 a.m. and the track will be live until 8 p.m. Spectator admission for that day is $10.
Qualifying begins on Friday, August 21. There are three rounds of qualifying scheduled and it will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 22 is race day with one final round of qualifying scheduled for 11 a.m. and opening ceremonies at 3:30 p.m.
If that’s not enough, there will be a Kids Zone set up on Friday and Saturday and a jet car will light up the night to end racing on both nights.
