THE MOTOAMERICA (AMA/FIM) SUBWAY SUPERBIKE DOUBLEHEADER

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., May 20, 2015 – America’s fastest production-based road racing motorcycles return to Road America May 29-31, as the newly formed MotoAmerica (AMA/FIM) series makes its first visit to Wisconsin for the MotoAmerica (AMA/FIM) SUBWAY Superbike Doubleheader.

The fast and flowing 4-mile road course at Road America is one of the most exciting and challenging tracks on the MotoAmerica 2015 schedule and will serve as the field of battle for round four of the 2015 MotoAmerica campaign featuring five different classes of motorcycles in a double-header format. Superbike, Superstock 1000, Supersport and Superstock 600 classes will have races on both Saturday and Sunday. New this year, Road America will host Round 1 of the KTM RC 390 Cup, a new class open to riders age 14-22.

The on-track action gets underway at 9 a.m., on Friday, May 29, with practice and first qualifying sessions throughout the day. Final qualifying will take place on Saturday morning starting at 8:30 a.m. The afternoon’s three races begin at 1 p.m., and the day will conclude with the KTM Cup race at 4 p.m.

Sunday’s schedule starts with warm-up sessions at 8 a.m., and the Dunlop Fan Walk/Autograph Session that begins at 10:15 a.m. Sunday’s five races start at 11:30 a.m. and the day’s action will conclude at approximately 5 p.m.

Off the track, the Road America Motorplex will be open for public karting while also hosting the AMA Supermoto National Championship Series on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Stunt rider Bill Dixon will also be performing throughout the weekend in the paddock.

In addition to the racing action, fans with motorcycles are encouraged to pre-register for a unique ‘Salute to Cycles’ on-track riding experience presented by Innovative Technologies. The Salute to Cycles provides participants with the rare chance to ride the Road America circuit and develop a true appreciation for the undulating road course where pro racers battle it out for glory and fame. Fans can also check out the Dairyland Classic flat track races on Friday night in nearby Plymouth, Wis.

Gates will open to the public each day at 7 a.m., and admission is $90 for the 3-day weekend, $30 Friday, $45 Saturday and $45 Sunday. Kids 12 and under are always free with a paying adult. New for 2015, any student can show their ID at the gate and get $10 off the ticket price. All races will run rain or shine. A tentative event schedule is available online at www.roadamerica.com
