Close To Fill Regular Spot On SIRIUS NASCAR Channel's Tradin' Paint – RacingNation.com

Charlotte, NC (January 26, 2008) – Veteran NASCAR journalist and raceday spotter John Close will be a regular guest on Tradin? Paint, an all-new show on SIRIUS Satellite Radio and the SIRIUS NASCAR Channel 128, throughout the 2008 racing season.

The show, hosted by veteran motorsports broadcaster Steve Post and legendary NASCAR crewman Danny ?Chocolate? Myers, is part of the SIRIUS NASCAR Channel programming mix from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Eastern Time Monday through Friday.

Close will join Post and Myers on the live call-in show every Tuesday at 12 Noon Eastern Time to discuss the latest developments in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Now in his 24th year as a professional motorsports journalist, Close first joined the Truck Series in 1996 as the Public Relations Director for Richard Petty Enterprises also serving as the team spotter for driver Rich Bickle and the No. 43 Petty Dodge that season.

Since then, Close has made the Truck Series his home spotting nearly 150 events for a number of drivers including Bickle, Terry Cook, Jimmy Spencer and Andy Houston. Close has also stayed true to his motorsports roots as a regular contributor to a number of top racing publications and Internet sites such as National Speed Sport News, Speedway Illustrated Magazine, and www.TruckSeries.com.

In 2007, Close authored NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series ? From Desert Dust To Superspeedways, a 160-page hardbound MBI Publishing book detailing the history of the division.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will open its 2008 season at Daytona (FL) International Speedway on Friday, February 15. The 250-mile event will be broadcast live on SIRIUS NASCAR Radio Channel 128 beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. SIRIUS NASCAR Radio will broadcast all 25 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races as well as all NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series events this season.
