(Slinger, WI) March 8, 2008 ? Kyle Busch, the hottest driver in the land is set to return for the 29th Annual Miller Lite Slinger Nationals July 15th. Kyle will be driving one of his own Kyle Busch Motorsports cars prepared by his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Crew Chief Richie Wauters. Busch and Wauters have proven to be a potent combination taking two of the three NASCAR truck races run this season. Busch is hot is all three of NASCAR?s elite divisions. This past weekend he won Friday night, led the most laps Saturday before retiring with a chassis problem, and led the most laps Sunday while taking the win! If he didn’t have the chassis problem late in the Nationwide race Saturday, Kyle Busch would be leading all three of NASCAR?S top series championship point standings. He currently leads the Sprint Cup and Truck Series standings.
In 2007 Kyle blistered the speedway in 11.400 seconds and was the fastest qualifier among the 45 late model entries. Once the race started he drove straight to the front in dominating fashion only to have cut tires sideline him. Busch started 12th (inverted fastest 12) and used the outside lane to rocket his way from his twelfth starting position to fifth by lap four, Busch quickly tracked down Brad Mueller and worked his way by to take the lead on lap 24 only to have his tire issues begin a few laps later. ?This thing was just bad fast, but you?ve got to finish,? Busch continued. ?I got the lead and I was running 70%.? If Busch can keep the tires on the car this year he should be very tough to beat………but we’ll see.
