SEBRING, Fla. (March 19, 2015) – Madison Snow, of Lehi, Utah, was presented the 21st Gorsline Scholarship by John Gorsline today at the 63rd annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring fueled by Fresh From Florida.

With this scholarship, Snow, who turned 19 in December, will work with Dr. Jacques Dallaire, Director of Performance Prime, on an individually-designed performance-enhancement program, and will benefit from a unique training program at Jim Leo’s PitFit Training – all courtesy of Gorsline Company.

The Gorsline Scholarship is presented by Gorsline Company, of Rochester, N.Y., the leader in high-risk motorsports insurance. It recognizes aspiring drivers by providing programs with tools that will assist them in developing skills on and off the track to help attain their professional goals.

Two other young drivers were also considered for the Scholarship: Dylan Murry, 14, of Cumming, Ga., and Skylar Robinson, 18, of Augusta, Ga.

“Still in his teens, Madison is already an accomplished racer,” said Gorsline, principal of Gorsline Company. “All three of the candidates for the 21st Gorsline Scholarship are worthy recipients. It was a tough decision, but we selected Madison. We’re confident he’ll benefit from the performance-enhancement and fitness training programs that Dallaire and Leo will provide as he progresses in his racing career.”

“Just looking at the past winners of the Gorsline Scholarship, it’s a great accomplishment,” said Snow, who’s driving a Porsche for Brumos Racing in the IMSA GTD class in the Sebring 12-Hour race this weekend. “To know that I’m in the same category as they are is huge. They’ve won the Gorsline Scholarship and look where they are now. And that’s something to look up to.”

Snow started racing at age 5 in karts and continues to race karts along with cars, earning numerous karting wins and championships. In 2010, at the age of 14 he raced a Miata in MPRA, a series at Miller Motorsports Park, placing second in the championship. He moved up to racing Porsches in 2011 at age 15, winning the IMSA GT3 Gold Class Championship, and again in 2013. Snow was the youngest driver to win a Porsche Cup race, and in the 2014 IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship he placed third in the GTD class in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and second at Petit LeMans. He continues to compete in IMSA GTD in 2015 and is a member of a family of racers, including Melanie Snow, Martin Snow and McKay Snow.
