7/10/2008 The NASCAR Sprint Cup stars race at the track near the Windy City this week for another Saturday night race. The drivers will attack the 1.5 mile track under the lights for the first time ever in the LifeLock.com 400.
The RacingNation.com Power Rankings tells you who we think will be burning up the track. Feel free to let us know your thoughts, send us an email.
RacingNation.com Power Rankings Kyle Busch He probably will win the race this week. He is always winning races now. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Now up into second place in points, Dale continues to carry the flag for the Hendricks team and is a top five contender every week. Matt Kenseth Kenseth moved up four places in the Chase 12 last week and is set to gain more this week. Even without a win at Chicagoland, Kenseth has run extremely well here and you should expect no different this week. Tony Stewart Tony is on the points bubble for the Chase. A good finish is needed to get away from the tight battle that is underway for the coveted top twelve points positions. With the ownership and leaving Joe Gibbs racing announcement finally made and out of the way, can Stewart now concentrate on racing and making this the Summer of Tony? Carl Edwards Mile and a half tracks suit Carl just fine and he should be considered a contender for the win at every single one of them. Jimmie Johnson Jimmie has an average finish in the top ten from his races at Chicagoland. He is due for a strong run at the front. Kevin Harvick With two wins at Chicagoland, Harvick throws his name into the hat as a contender. But, his track record this year has left a lot to be desired. More has been expected through the first half of the season. Currently out of the Chase 12 by only two points, Kevin is in a tight pack of drivers looking to solidify their Chase position. Kasey Kahne How about a sighting of the Kasey Kahne of a month and a half ago. The 1.5 mile track could be the spark that brings him back into focus. Denny Hamlin Gave himself and the team a C-plus grade for the season so far, maybe they need to study more. This team should be winning races along with teammate Kyle. Jeff Gordon Still looking for that first win. I think a good finish is in order but no win this week. He is semi-safe in the Chase field, but one DNF would drop him into the pack of sharks. Jeff Burton Look for a huge bounce back from the Daytona finish as Burton will record a top ten this week. He could even be challenging for a win at the end of the night. Clint Bowyer This could be a good weekend for Clint and that is what he needs to claw out of the pack at the bottom of the Chase 12. Look for a top ten finish for Bowyer at Chicagoland. Greg Biffle We havent heard much from Biffle since he signed his contract extension with Roush Fenway and he has fallen to the bottom of the Chase 12. Chicagoland hasnt been spectacular for Biffle in the past but a top ten should be expected. Others to watch: Bobby Labonte Probably too far back to make the Chase, but Bobby could put that 43 up front this week. David Ragan 102 points out of 12th, needs to make some hay this week. Joey Logano While he is not in the Cup race, he is the heir apparent of the #20. It will be interesting to watch his progress in the Nationwide race.
