3/15/2008 Hudson, North Carolina (03/15/2008): The ASA Late Model Series will travel to the famed Gateway International Raceway on Saturday, September 6, 2008. The announcement was made today at the opening event of the 2008 ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division at Tri County Motor Speedway. The “Original” ASA Late Model Series will compete at a track that is rich in the history of stock car racing. In making the announcement Gateway International Raceway VP and General Manager Lenny Batycki stated “We are very excited with having the ASA Late Model Series compete at Gateway. The series represents grass roots racing in America and we are looking forward to seeing the hard-charging drivers of the ASA Late Model Series compete at Gateway International raceway September 6th”. “America’s Premier Short Track Series” will compete on the same day’s event as the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. “We have worked very hard to secure this partnership with GIR and we look forward to an outstanding race event at one of racing’s premier facilities” stated ASALMS owner Ron Varney. The ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division will make their first-ever appearance at the very competitive 1.25 mile facility. In what is expected to be a very exciting event will draw some of the ASALMS best drivers to test the largest track yet for the series which is now entering their sixth year of competition.
