Round one of the Chase for the Nextel Cup is over and Clint Bowyer dominated it. Round two is at Dover, another COT race. The RacingNation.com Power Rankings tell you who we think is burning up the track heading into the Monster Mile. Feel free to let us know your thoughts, send us an email.
RacingNation.com Power Rankings Tony Stewart Tony closed in quickly on the top two point leaders, narrowing the gap to 10 points. Watch him take the lead at Dover. Jeff Gordon Near the front and looking for more. Jeff needs those bonus points that somehow got forgotten at New Hampshire. Jimmie Johnson A sixth place finish following two wins is nice, but this points chase will require wins and podium finishes. Kyle Busch Great comeback run to start off the chase, he will be fun to watch. Carl Edwards Two unfulfilling races in a row. Now is not the time to start that type of trend. Martin Truex Jr. More was expected at New Hampshire. Although a top five is great, more is expected at Dover as well. Clint Bowyer The Jack Daniels team has been conservative and now, in the Chase, will let it loose. Look out! Matt Kenseth Typical top ten finish for the 17 team. Denny Hamlin What happened to the flat track specialist? Kurt Busch Was this a Championship killer weekend? Johnson was able to bounce back last year, can Kurt? Kevin Harvick You know, without issues, this team could be a contender. Problem is the 29 car seems to be a issue magnet right now. Jeff Burton Jeff wants to contend for wins, but isnt sure the team is ready. That sounds like trouble. Casey Mears With a top ten this week, Casey is ready to contend for 13th. JJ Yeley Two top ten finishes in a row is the best JJ has done all year, actually all career. Bobby Labonte Still lurking at the top 20 mark.
