Rockerbox Motofest & AHRMA Vintage Motorcycle Racing Return To Road America – RacingNation.com

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., June 3, 2015 – For the second year in a row, Road America welcomes the 12th annual Rockerbox Motofest to its historic venue June 5-7 as motorcycle enthusiasts from across the country will gather on an expanse of 640 acres to celebrate all things moto-culture.

The fest has its roots in the heart of one of Milwaukee’s most eclectic neighborhoods, and with lots of music, food, bikes and vendors, this year’s event at Road America will prove to be one of the most exciting years yet. So fill up the tank and dust off those leathers for a winding ride to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, for the motorcycle celebration of the year. Visitors traveling northbound can experience American roadways at their finest, with a scenic view of the Northern Kettle Moraine region. Once you arrive at Road America, riders and aficionados alike can expect a mix from café racers and vintage cycles, to fresh off the dealership lot.

The heart of the event is the Rockerbox ride-in bike show and competition on Saturday to show off custom moto work and restorations. Winners are chosen by an experienced team of judges, in all kinds of categories, including Best Race Bike, Best Chopper and Best Rat Bike. Your unique motorcycle could win a custom trophy, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to various charities.

The vintage nature of the fest’s history shines through with involvement of AHRMA, the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association. The group looks towards continuing the rich history of road racing in the United States and will be bringing its own classic flavor to Road America’s 4-mile road course with on track activity during the weekend. In the spirit of the event’s past there will be organized rides to the Road America grounds and fans can check out the event schedule at www.roadamerica.com for more details about how to put that rubber to the pavement.

While at Road America, make sure to stick around for stunt shows on both Saturday and Sunday. Fest-goers can come and go as they please throughout the day, keeping the weekend relaxed and you can feel like you’re riding into the great American landscape with a Saturday Sunset Ride before the evening celebrations give way.

Don’t forget about the annual swap meet. This is the highlight of the weekend to true moto-heads, where you can rifle through parts to construct your ideal bike. Here, motorcycle mechanics and backyard builders alike come together in search of the right parts. Whether you’re re-building an original vintage classic or designing your own hand-built, you’re sure to find something amongst the acres of treasures and over 30 vendors will also be setting up shop for customers to check out between events.

Other weekend attractions include a bit of Wisconsin pride with a micro-brew tasting on Saturday, and live music. Confirmed bands include Chicago-based Rockabilly bands Rumble Train which keeps the classic tradition of Rockabilly alive with fast-paced, retro vibes; listen for the pots and pans they incorporate with the guitar and bass. Make sure to check out their original musical stylings with a cold brew in hand.

At Road America, virtually none of the on-site amenities are off limits. Visitors can easily access the pits to get up-close and personal with competitors as they can with vendors. With over 14 different concession stand locations and convenient on-site campgrounds, patrons can literally enjoy all that Rockerbox has to offer for the entire weekend.

Gates will open to the public each day at 7 a.m., admission and a bike show entry for Saturday is $40. Event admission is $20 on Friday and $30 Saturday and Sunday or $60 for the entire weekend. Fans who wear a Rockerbox T-shirt from any previous year get in for $10. Kids 12 and under are always free with a paying adult. New for 2015, any student can show their ID at the gate and get $10 off the ticket price. All races will run rain or shine. A tentative event schedule is available online at www.roadamerica.com
