The No. 07 Ford Fiesta of Nelson Piquet, Jr. will showcase a special blue and white HAUS livery during the fifth round of Red Bull Global Rallycross competition. Four races into their debut season, SH Rallycross sits atop the championship point standings. Piquet Jr. took the lead following his second place finish at last weekend’s event in Long Island, New York. The team has finished on the podium each of the last three events, including becoming an X Games medalist after capturing the bronze last month at X Games Austin.
Red Bull Global Rallycross events are designed to produce the fastest and most exciting racing in all of motorsport. Tracks are between a half a mile and a mile in length, featuring a mixture of dirt, tarmac, and other obstacles. GRC vehicles are able to produce 600 horsepower, accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 1.9 seconds, withstand 70-foot jumps, and do not include traction control. Events include qualifying; heat races; a last-chance qualifier; and the final, where the winner is determined. Charlotte, the fifth of ten races, will be broadcast live Saturday, July 26 on NBC at 2 p.m. ET.
