Disaster struck for several NASCAR Sprint Cup teams in the second of three segments of the Sprint Unlimited race at the Daytona International Speedway.

Eight drivers (Matt Kenseth, Joey Logano, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Danica Patrick, Kurt Busch, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kevin Harvick) were involved in the incident. Fortunately, none of the drivers were injured.
Denny Hamlin who called the race a “survival of the fittest” went on to capture the victory.
