4/10/2008 The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to the desert to race in Phoenix this coming weekend. The race will be run under the Saturday Night Lights, which always seem to spark more action and excitement.

The RacingNation.com Power Rankings tells you who we think will be burning up the track. Feel free to let us know your thoughts, send us an email.

RacingNation.com Power Rankings Kyle Busch Phoenix wasnt a bad track in the past for Kyle. He still is the fastest guy on the track, even when he doesnt need to be. Carl Edwards Carl is on a roll right now. I wouldnt expect a win but, you never know for sure. Dale Earnhardt Jr. The last two races were supposed to be wins for Junior. Maybe that first win will come when no one is expecting it. Jimmie Johnson It looks like Jimmie is just about back. Phoenix could put him right back where he belongs. Jeff Gordon Texas gave Gordon his 3nd last place finish of his Cup career. The other ones were at Atlanta in 1997 and Texas in 1999. Those finishes were followed with top 6 runs the next week. Look for the same at Phoenix. Denny Hamlin Denny tends to run well on the flat tracks. A win in the desert wouldnt be a surprise. Matt Kenseth Two top 5 finishes in Phoenix last year bode well for Kenseth to climb back to the top 12 in the standings. Tony Stewart Havent heard much from Tony lately. Looking forward to the next shout out from the Tiger. Greg Biffle Two bad runs in a row has Biffle sliding backward. Phoenix should allow him to turn the trend around. Kevin Harvick Expect another finish around 10th, that is all that Kevin has been doing this year and it is working well. Jeff Burton Still the point leader because he is always there at the end. Mark Martin There at the end of the Texas race was Martin, on the lead lap. Expect another fine run from the Army machine in the desert. Clint Bowyer Needs a win to catch up to top of the standings teammates. Jamie McMurray From the outhouse to the… well, at least its a nicer house. Jamie Mac has been seen running up front in the last two races and now is 25th in the standings. A top ten this week is in the cards. Scott Riggs Haas CNC Racing has a good track record at Phoenix. You could see Riggs running with McMurray when the checkers fly. Power Rankings from Last Week and Texas Result Greg Biffle 39th Dale Earnhardt Jr. 12th Jeff Gordon 43rd Kyle Busch 3rd Carl Edwards 1st Kevin Harvick 11th Jeff Burton 6th Jimmie Johnson 2nd Denny Hamlin 5th Tony Stewart 7th Matt Kenseth 9th Clint Bowyer 10th Bobby Labonte 20th Kasey Kahne 25th Mark Martin 8th
